Java based conversion tool
Jconvert enables you to convert between dozens of measurement units, covering the most varied fields: from length to temperature, from time to computer units.
The program looks really simple and works in a very simple way as well. Simply run the JAR file (no installation required) and you'll be presented with a fairly basic interface divided into tabs.
Conversions are done in real time as you type your values. Although there's a wide range of measure units covered, you can add your own, but only by editing a text file.

Newer version available.
First off, I am the author of JConvert and found this website today. So please understand that my opinions might be a bit impartial. There has already been 3 releases of JConvert since this review and the download link to sourceforge is no longer good because the beta version is no longer available. For the latest code, please check jconvert.sourceforge.net . There have been several updates since the beta conversion that make adding conversions of your own even easier.
Pros:
FREE, FREE, FREE
platform independent
easily extendible
can integrate with your own application
Cons:
Too good to be true More
